Recession? What better to do than have a party! Last night proved we can all have fun even in bad times.
We snapped this last night, as Ask Miss A's Andrea Rodgers hosted a Pink Slip Party to connect job seekers and employers in a fun setting at K Street’s Lotus Lounge. Equity International’s Bill Loiry, Andrea, and Mike Carson Creative’s Mike Carson put the party together.
Eric Mack and Raul Posas came to network with more than thirty recruiters, headhunters, staffing agencies and companies.
Dan Saxinger, Michael Phung and Darren White praised the party, which was so successful that Andrea plans on repeating it every month. Three people told us they set up an interview.
FOX 5 and Tokyo TV filmed the party. The Face of Georgetown!
Not only is Bo Blair all over Georgetown with popular bar/restaurant SmithPoint and casual eatery Jetties, but he grew up there. We visited him this week at his newest restaurant, Glover Park's Surfside, where he combines affordable great food with a fun island atmosphere. The names of his restaurants are based on places in Nantucket where he used to work during beach season. Next up: "Something Sweet" across from 2 Amys in Glover Park on April 15.
Last night we stopped by another one of Bo’s restaurants with a hot bar scene, The Rookery, where they focus on great food and live music every night. Georgetown Lacrosse Coach and Washington Bayhawks player, Scotty Urick, met up with friends Jon Staunton and TJ Minogue to check out the band and are psyched for the Bayhawks Ball tonight!
